We can improve the health and look of your smile through the numerous dental restoration services that we offer.
You may need fillings when you have cavities, have broken a tooth, or when an existing filling is broken or leaking. We offer a number of different materials for fillings, such as composite, porcelain, and gold. Ask us about the best solution for your mouth.
In some cases, a tooth is damaged such that putting a filling in it would compromise the structural integrity of the tooth. In this case, inlays would be recommended. Inlays are superior in protecting teeth against recurrent cavities and biting forces when compared to fillings.
When the cusp of a tooth is damaged or compromised, an onlay is a good option. Onlays are similar to inlays in protecting teeth against recurrent cavities and biting forces, and can help preserve tooth structure when compared to crowns.
Crowns are covers, or ‘caps’ for teeth. They are indicated when teeth are highly decayed, have had root canals, have very large fillings on them, or are cracked. We offer a number of options for materials for crowns for our patients. Ask us about the best option for you.
Bridges are used to replace single or multiple missing teeth, as long as there are sound teeth on either side of the space. Bridges are just one of the many options we offer for replacing missing teeth.
Implants are the best option for missing teeth. They help hold the bone integrity in place, prevent drifting of the teeth, and help you to use your teeth in the most natural way possible.
An implant is a titanium screw that is threaded into your bone. Your bone then treats the implant as its own, and integrates with the implant. A crown is then attached to the implant, and you are then ready to use the tooth as normal.
There has never been a more natural and reliable way to replace missing teeth.
Implants are a good option to consider if you are having problems with ill-fitting dentures. Implants are placed in the jaw, and then dentures are made to fit with the implants. The dentures can be removable, or non-removable. If you have problems with the fit of your dentures, implant-retained dentures may be the answer that you are looking for.
We offer a comprehensive array of services to improve the appearance of any smile. Contact us to find out how we can improve your smile today!
Veneers are a thin layer of porcelain or composite that is bonded to the outer surface of teeth. You can completely change the look and feel of your smile with veneers by changing the shape, placement, and colour of your teeth. Ask us about veneers if you are considering a serious change.
This is the simplest way to achieve dramatic changes to your smile. In-office whitening is the fastest and most effective way to whiten teeth. We also offer professional take-home whitening kits to our patients.
Along with Veneers and Teeth Whitening, there are a number of other options available to help improve the look of one, or all of your teeth. We can help you with anything from a discoloured single tooth to restoring a full mouth. Come to us today if you there is anything about your smile that you are unhappy with.
At Copperfield Dental Center, we love looking after families! We are able to provide reliable dental care no matter what stage you are at.
Children are the hallmark of our practice. Bringing children in to see the dentist at a young age is a good practice that helps to build clean oral hygiene practices at a young age. We offer complimentary exams for children under 3. Schedule your visit with us and see how happy and confident children can be when their first visit to the dentist is fun and exciting!
We are often able to avoid freezing for children when we use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for smaller fillings. This helps to ensure that children are relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. Parents are also happy with this option, as they do not constantly have to watch to ensure that children are not chewing on frozen cheeks and lips. (More Information on Nitrous Oxide under Sedation Dentistry)
As do children, adults can also have fun at the dentist. We work hard to create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere for you so that your visit is as easy as possible.
Our friendly and professional hygienists work hard to help you maintain your oral health in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
Regular checkups are just as important as brushing and flossing at home. During your checkups, our hygienists thoroughly clean your mouth to remove any plaque and built-up tartar in the gentlest way possible. Not only that, but we also thoroughly check your mouth to make sure that there are no areas of concern both with the teeth and the tissues of the mouth. This ensures that if there are any problems, we can correct them before they turn into larger problems.
At Copperfield Dental, we have an array of diagnostic tools to help us discover any abnormalities in your mouth. Our state-of-the art digital x-rays not only help us diagnose, but they also reduce the amount of radiation you are exposed to. Velscope is another tool that we use to diagnose abnormalities in the oral cavity. More Information on the Velscope.
There is no need to avoid coming to the dentist if you are feeling apprehensive. We can help our patients that may have feelings of anxiety through sedation to help them feel relaxed and comfortable.
Oral sedation is a method where you take an anti-anxiety medication before your appointment. This method can be used for any type of procedure, even regular cleanings! Our patients find that this is a safe and effective method that helps prevent any feelings of anxiety.
Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is an effective method that involves inhaling a mixture of nitrous oxide gas and oxygen. The mixture is inhaled through a nose piece, and after just a few minutes of inhaling, our patients feel relaxed enough to go ahead with any type of procedure. When we use this method on children, we are able to use flavoured nose pieces, making it easier for them to continue breathing through their noses. This method helps reduce the number of visits to the dentist, and also reduces the time for each appointment, as we can accomplish a lot more during each visit.
When a tooth has a very large cavity in it, is cracked, or has a permanently irritated nerve, a root canal may be indicated. During a root canal, the nerve of the tooth is accessed and removed. The remaining canals are then disinfected and cleaned. Once this is complete, the canals are then filled with a material called gutta percha. The tooth is then filled.
Rotary (motorized) files are used to clean and shape the canals, thus significantly reducing the time that you are in the chair.
Root canals save your teeth. Having a root canal does not have to be painful. We will ensure that your experience with root canals is as pleasant as possible.
We can help you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the removal of impacted wisdom teeth.
Sometimes, wisdom teeth get ‘stuck’ because there is not enough room in the mouth for them to come out, or if they are not straight. These impacted teeth may cause problems, such as cysts and infections if left in the mouth. In fact, impacted wisdom teeth can also cause headaches and jaw pain. Using the appropriate techniques, wisdom tooth removal can be quite comfortable.
The appearance of wisdom teeth usually starts in adolescence. If your adolescent child complains of jaw pain, tooth pain, or headaches, it might be the wisdom teeth. Schedule an appointment today if you suspect issues with your wisdom teeth.
Dentures can help in the replacement of multiple missing teeth. We can help restore your simile by creating quality dentures that have a beautiful, natural look.
Complete dentures replace an entire set of missing teeth. For individuals that are unhappy with the appearance of all their teeth, this might be a good option, as you are able to choose the colour, shape and size of the teeth.
Partial dentures replace multiple missing teeth. They are held in place using retention from other teeth. By drawing on the number of materials available to us, we can create a set of quality dentures that look and feel natural.
If you are struggling with loose dentures, implant-retained dentures may be the answer for you. This is a set of complete dentures that are held in place with implants (More Information on Implants under Implant Dentistry). This helps to hold the dentures into position, and prevents them from shifting in any way. For many people, implant-retained dentures can significantly improve quality of life, as they are able to eat anything without having to worry about shifting dentures.
If you have unexplained headaches, jaw pain, or tooth pain, you may have a TMJ issue. Call us today for a complete assessment if you suspect a TMJ disorder.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull. TMJ disorders have a variety of symptoms, including shifting or popping of the jaw, unexplained headaches, and even tooth pain. Because the symptoms of TMJ disorders vary, so do treatments. Sometimes, all that is needed is some massage therapy. Other times, a splint, or a nightguard is the answer. Through proper assessment and diagnosis, most TMJ disorders are treatable. At Copperfield Dental, we can help you if you have experienced any of these symptoms.
We can help you choose the best method to help straighten your teeth and correct your bite so that you are happy with the appearance and function of your teeth.
Invisalign are clear invisible trays that are worn over the teeth at all times. The trays are changed every two weeks. These trays will help shift the teeth, just like braces do without the unsightly appearance of braces. Invisalign is a good option for anyone who is unhappy with the alignment of their teeth. Call us today to schedule a consultation.
Retainers are extremely important in maintaining tooth position after orthodontic work. Did you know that most orthodontists are recommending life-time retainer wear now? If you have broken or lost your existing retainer, we can help you into a new one.
We want you to leave relaxed, happy and excited to show off that beautiful smile!
