You are at the heart of what we do.

Your Calgary Dentist

Since Copperfield Dental Center opened its doors in 2005, our team of professionals, led by Dr. Kamal Virk-Uppal, has aimed to provide quality dental care in a friendly and comfortable environment. We use the latest digital radiology and computers along with intraoral cameras to make the best diagnoses and to explain exactly what we’re doing and why. We want our patients to be knowledgeable about every aspect of their dental health.

Meet Our Team

Michelle, Office Manager at Copperfield Dental smiling in front of wall

Michelle Allaire

Office Manager

Michelle has been part of the team at Copperfield Dental Center from the very beginning, and over the years, she’s come to know many of our patients quite well. Catching up with them or building a relationship with someone new to the office is always a highlight of her day.

Michelle has been working in the ever-changing world of dentistry since 1992, but she says what keeps it exciting and gratifying is the opportunity to give confidence to people who are fearful of having dental work done.

She knows people can choose to see other dentists in Calgary, but believes what keeps people coming back to Copperfield Dental Center year after year, is that they truly feel cared for. Michelle says she’s proud to be a part of that.

Michelle invites you to make an appointment and experience a different kind of dental visit.

Utilizing Technology to Provide the Highest Quality Dental Care

We use the latest dental technology including Velscope and Soft Tissue Laser equipment in order to provide the highest quality family and cosmetic dental care for our patients.

Screen showing digital radiography x-ray

Digital Radiography

Our digitized radiography system provides dental images with 80% less radiation than conventional x-rays. Unlike small x-ray films, digital x-ray images can be magnified up to 300 times their normal size and can be viewed instantaneously on a screen right beside you!

Digital radiography is an invaluable tool for diagnosis. We can adjust contrast and colour to reveal hidden problems, make more accurate measurements, and even back-light teeth to see things that can’t be seen with conventional film. Our high-magnification camera and large-screen monitor allow you to see exactly what we see. We want you to understand the treatment we recommend.

Velscope Dental Technology

Velscope is a dental tool that is available for discovering irregularities in the mouth. Velscope’s blue light is used to distinguish healthy tissue from tissue that is traumatized or diseased. Healthy tissue fluoresces in a pattern that is distinctly different than non-healthy tissue, and Velscope can aid health care providers in finding concerning developments before they are visible to the naked eye.

Because Velscope can discover issues early on, life-threatening conditions such as oral cancer can be caught before they spread, potentially saving lives. Ask one of our trained staff members for more information.

Soft Tissue Laser Dental Technology

Soft Tissue Laser

Soft tissue lasers are effective in a number of different ways. We can use the laser to greatly enhance the appearance of your smile by contouring your gums in a minimally disruptive way. This involves no bleeding and is a relatively pain-free procedure.

Our soft-tissue laser can also be used to prevent a cold sore from developing. When you feel a cold sore starting, come in, and we can laser it off. This will prevent the sore from growing, essentially stopping it in its tracks.

Ask us about the different ways in which our soft tissue laser can help you achieve your ideal smile!

We want you to leave relaxed, happy and excited to show off that beautiful smile!

iTero Element Scanner Dental Technology

iTero Element Scanner

The iTero Element Scanner is a digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With our iTero Element Scanner, we can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but it’s faster and can offer a clean clinical endpoint.

- No goop or gag to worry about
- Fast, accurate impression
- Ideal for crowns, bridges, implants, and Invisalign® clear aligners and retainers
- See a simulation of your potential Invisalign treatment outcome

During the impression process, you can breathe or swallow as you normally would. You can even pause during the process if you need to sneeze or just want to ask a question. The scanner gives us a 3D model of your mouth that can be used for your dental services including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator to show you what your new smile might look like.
