Dr. Philip Grout
Bsc, DDS
Dr. Grout grew up in Calgary and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Alberta in 2000. After graduating, he spent three years practicing in the mountain town of Jasper, Alberta. Dr. Grout then made the move closer to home and worked just South of Calgary in Okotoks and High River for two and a half years.
In the fall of 2005, Dr. Grout opened Copperfield Dental Center in the neighbourhood of Copperfield in South East Calgary. He had a vision of providing high quality, personalized dental care with state-of-the-art technology. Over the years and with the help of a wonderful team, he is proud to have made that vision a reality.
With almost a decade of dental experience, Dr. Grout is your best choice among Calgary dentists. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Alberta Dental Association and Calgary District Dental Society.
Dr. Grout is married with 3 beautiful children. He is an avid triathlete and has completed the Accenture Escape from Alcatraz in San Francisco for 3 years counting, 2006, 2007 & 2008!
Michelle Allaire
Office Manager
Michelle has been part of the team at Copperfield Dental Center from the very beginning, and over the years, she’s come to know many of our patients quite well. Catching up with them or building a relationship with someone new to the office is always a highlight of her day.
Michelle has been working in the ever-changing world of dentistry since 1992, but she says what keeps it exciting and gratifying is the opportunity to give confidence to people who are fearful of having dental work done.
She knows people can choose to see other dentists in Calgary, but believes what keeps people coming back to Copperfield Dental Center year after year, is that they truly feel cared for. Michelle says she's proud to be a part of that.

Joanna Creamer
RDA
Joanna grew up in a small town in British Columbia and loved every minute of it. But after finishing her schooling at the College of the Rockies in 2007, she decided to make the move to the big city of Calgary!
In August of 2007, Joanna joined the Copperfield Dental team and became a part of our wonderful family. She enjoys it more and more every passing day.
When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying the outdoors. In the summer, Joanna loves swimming in the beautiful lakes around Calgary. In the winter – she hits the ski hill as often as possible!
Jenny Wood
RDH
Since she moved to Calgary in 2006, Jenny has been an important part of the Copperfield Dental Center family. Her love for dental hygiene began after a fun visit to the dentist as a child, and ever since then Jenny has been inspired to offer that same positive experience to others.
Jenny graduated from the University of Alberta in 2001 with a bachelor of Science specializing in Dental Hygiene. Jenny has worked as a hygienist in private practice, and prior to moving to Calgary she instructed clinical dental hygiene at the University of Alberta.
In her spare time, Jenny enjoys soccer, triathlons and traveling. She also love spending time with her two nieces, Maddie & Georgie, and her nephew, Ty.
Jenny looks forward to making your dental experience a pleasurable one!
Sharla Bell
RDA
Sharla grew up in the Crowsnest Pass and has been living in Calgary for over a decade. She misses the mountains, but enjoys her trips back to visit family. She has been a dental assistant for over 13 years. Sharla was Dr. Grout’s assistant up until she had her son, and then she took a year off on maternity leave. She is now the first smiling face you see when you walk into the office.
Outside of the office, Sharla loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys playing co-ed slowpitch with her husband, and teaching her son to hit a baseball.
Sharla looks forward to making your first impression a positive one.
Lonni Carr
RDA
Lonni is a mother of two boys and is re-entering the work place after staying home for the last 13 years. She grew up in a small town in BC and moved to Calgary in 2001. In 2009 she graduated from Columbia College and Joined the Copperfield Dental team shortly there after. When not at work, Lonni enjoys many outdoor activities with her family including skiing and skating in the winter and swimming and bike riding in the summer.
Treslie Williams
RDH
Treslie joined the Copperfield team after moving from Red Deer in the summer of 2010. After volunteering in the dental hygiene department of the community health center in Medicine Hat during high school, she decided to pursue a career in dental hygiene. In 1999, Treslie graduated from the University of Alberta. Shortly after she moved to Red Deer where she has worked for the majority of her career.
Treslie has a six year old son and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Treslie and her husband share a passion for cooking, traveling, skiing, hiking, camping, biking and pretty much anything that gets them outdoors.
Tessa Brekkaas
Sterilization Clerk
Tessa moved to Calgary from Prince George, British Columbia in 2008. She started with working at Copperfield Dental Center in the summer of 2010. She enjoys traveling with her husband and teaching her nieces piano.
Tessa continues to enjoy learning more about the dental field and looks forward to meeting you at your next dental visit.
Karin daCosta
Administaration
Karin joined the at Copperfield Dental team in 2011 and enjoys helping patients with all of their dental needs. Karin has worked in the healthcare industry since 1986, aside from the eight years she spent at home with her two children.
